Bacti-Gro and Bacti-Gro P45* may be fed free choice to cattle by a method so designed to prevent the animal from drinking this product.
Feed Limits: Do not feed over 2 pounds per head per day to cattle or over ¼ pound per head per day to goats or sheep. Do not feed over ½ pound per head per day to other animals. *P45 is not recommended for horses.
For Best Results: Water, a mineral supplement program, roughage, and grains should be fed as recommended by NRG, Inc. after a nutritional analysis of your ration.
Note: Animals which have been poorly fed for a period of time may be deficient in calcium, magnesium or phosphorus. Such cattle and goats/sheep should be put “on feed” gradually, using good quality roughages or grain as co-fed substances. Avoid feeding poorly conditioned cattle Bacti-Gro P45 Additive free choice with drouthy pasture or overgrazed pasture as the only roughage except, with self feeders of approved design which limit the rate of Bacti-Gro P45 Additive consumption.

GroLicks distributes liquid livestock feed supplements, a low protein formulation, Bacti-Gro, suitable for many types of livestock including cattle, sheep, goat and horses and a high protein production formulation, P45, designed primarily for cattle with greater nutritional requirements due to production or physical needs.
What is Bacti-Gro and how is it fed?
Bacti-Gro is molasses-based livestock feed supplement with a 45 year production history. The formula is consistently produced using high quality cane molasses, nominal crude protein and valuable trace minerals to provide dependable benefit to the animal regardless of season. Bacti-Gro enhances the rumens ability to breakdown and converts complex carbohydrates into useable proteins for the nutritional requirements of the animal.
The P45 formulation contains a higher concentration of crude protein (NPN), not less than 45% of the formulation. This formulation is extremely beneficial to grazing herds where the viability of the feed source has lost its potency due to the end of the range grasses growing season.
Both Bacti-Gro and P45 may be applied to daily rations or set out in pasture for multiple animals. The lick tanks are fitted with a wheel which turns forward and back and requires two animals to operate. This wheel means more animals will receive supplement as the dominant animals cannot control the rotation of the wheel singly. The formulation also contains sufficient alcohol to prevent freezing in cold conditions. This alcohol content also causes the tongue to become numb after a short time encouraging the animal to seek out water thus allowing other animals a time at the supplement.
How does Bacti-Gro and P45 increase the nutritional value of livestock feed sources?
In ruminating animals (cattle and sheep), the nutritional supplement activates increased growth and digestive activity of the bacteria and enzymes which break down the food sources for efficient absorption into the animals system. The more efficiently the food is digested the greater the transfer of useable components, including protein for energy, is utilized by the animal.
In non-ruminating livestock the nutritional elements of Bacti-Gro and P45 also assist with the efficient digestion of food sources thus transferring greater nutritional value of the food source to the blood, muscles and other organs of the non-ruminating animal.
